Lori Alexander has been a part of the Vanderbilt Athletics Department for 15 years. She has served in her current role as an athletics administrator for eight years after joining the Commodore team in 1997 as a strength and conditioning coach. She currently is the administrator overseeing men’s tennis, women’s tennis, soccer and swimming. She also oversees the Sports Medicine department, summer camps, athletic championships, and the training table within the athletic department. Prior to Vanderbilt, Alexander was a member of the athletics team at the University of California-Berkeley for eight years after starting her career in college athletics at the University of Notre Dame in 1988. She received her graduate degree in education from Indiana University-South Bend and her undergraduate degree in biology, health and physical education from Bethel College. During her career in athletics, Alexander has always had a special interest in and served on committees that address the general health and wellness of student-athletes.
Lori is an advocate for the Health Enhancement committee for her interest in the overall well-being of the student-athlete. She is a resource within the athletic department and serves as a supportive group member with health and welfare topics. She provides support amongst our group discussions and gives great insight when formulating a project to enhance the student-athlete’s health education. It is important for her to keep up with the educational component amongst the student-athletes and share with the rest of the athletic department so the overall well-being of the student-athlete is communicated.
